Why Vote For TMC? Why Reject BJP? Mamata Banerjee Decodes The Battle At Maynaguri Rally

Addressing a massive gathering in Maynaguri, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on the BJP while setting the narrative for the upcoming elections. In a direct appeal to the voters of North Bengal, she clearly outlined the reasons “Why to vote for TMC” and “Why NOT to vote for BJP,” positioning the contest as a battle between grassroots development and central neglect.

Mamata Banerjee argued that people should vote for TMC because of the tangible benefits they receive from schemes like Laxmi Bhandar, Kanyashree, and Sabuj Sathi. “We stand by the people in their time of need. We have provided social security to every household,” she asserted. Conversely, she urged people to reject the BJP, accusing them of blocking funds for the MGNREGA and Awas Yojana. She labeled BJP leaders as “election-time tourists” who disappear after the polls, leaving the state to fend for itself.

The Chief Minister also emphasized her government’s commitment to North Bengal, dismissing opposition claims of neglect. She highlighted the welfare of tea garden workers and infrastructural growth in the region. By simplifying the electoral choice into a performance-based comparison, Mamata Banerjee’s Maynaguri speech aimed to consolidate her rural voter base and present the TMC as the only shield against “central deprivation.”
