Why Only Moms? Raghav Chadha Demands ‘Paternity Leave’ as a Legal Right in Parliament!

Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha is making headlines again for raising issues that directly impact the daily lives of citizens. His latest crusade in Parliament is for ‘Paternity Leave’ to be established as a legal right. Chadha argued that while both parents are congratulated on a child’s birth, the entire burden of childcare often falls solely on the mother.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Chadha stated, “A father should not be forced to choose between his career and his newborn, nor should a mother go through the postpartum period without her husband’s support.” He emphasized that caregiving is a joint responsibility and our laws must reflect this reality. This isn’t the first time Chadha has stood up for the public; he has previously voiced concerns over hidden bank charges for minimum balances, urban traffic congestion, and the exorbitant prices of food and beverages at airports. By consistently raising these “real-world” issues, Chadha continues to be one of the most talked-about leaders in the Rajya Sabha.
