Who Gets What? Decoding the Distribution of BCCI’s ₹131 Crore Prize Money for Team India

Following Team India’s historic consecutive T20 World Cup triumph in 2026, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a staggering cash prize of ₹131 crore. This surpasses the ₹125 crore awarded during the 2024 victory. The announcement has sparked immense curiosity among fans regarding how this massive sum will be distributed among the 15-member squad, the coaching department, and the unsung heroes of the support staff.

According to sources close to the board and news agency PTI, the lion’s share of the ₹131 crore will be distributed equally or proportionately among the 15 players in the main squad. The coaching staff, including the Head Coach and specialized assistants (batting, bowling, and fielding), will receive substantial bonuses commensurate with their experience and contribution. Furthermore, the award extends to the support staff, including physios, masseurs, and throw-down specialists, along with the national selectors who orchestrated this winning combination.

The 2026 World Cup saw a fairytale comeback for Ishan Kishan, whose stellar performance has become the talk of the town. Speaking at the Patna airport, an emotional Kishan dedicated the win to the youth of the nation. India has now set a global record by becoming the first team to win the T20 World Cup back-to-back and the first host nation to clinch the title. Beyond the BCCI’s reward, the ICC has also granted the winning team approximately ₹21.50 crore, marking a season of unprecedented financial rewards for Indian cricket.
