Tensions have flared up ahead of the State Assembly elections as TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee led a delegation to the Election Commission office to protest against recent administrative reshuffles and other grievances. However, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Rahul Sinha was quick to dismiss the move, launching a scathing attack on the TMC leadership.

Mocking Abhishek’s visit, Rahul Sinha stated that the TMC is making excuses because they foresee a crushing defeat. “As long as they controlled the administration, they were silent. Now that the Commission is acting independently to ensure fair polls, they are crying foul,” Sinha remarked. He further added that the TMC’s repeated complaints are nothing but an attempt to mask their fear of the central agencies and the impending election results. The BJP leader emphasized that such “theatrics” would not influence the voters’ decision.
