UP Budget 2026: CM Yogi Unveils Massive ₹9 Lakh Cr Budget; 10 Lakh Jobs and Agri-Export Hubs on Cards!

The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has presented its 10th budget, marking a monumental shift in the state’s fiscal landscape. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna tabled a record-breaking budget exceeding ₹9 lakh crore, the largest in the state’s history. Aimed at making Uttar Pradesh a $1 trillion economy, the 2026-27 budget focuses heavily on agriculture, industrialization, and youth empowerment.

Agriculture: Going Global A major highlight of the budget is the establishment of an Agriculture Export Hub with assistance from the World Bank. This initiative aims to provide local farmers access to international markets, ensuring better pricing and higher income. Uttar Pradesh continues to lead the nation in the production of wheat, sugarcane, potatoes, and mangoes. Under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, compensation worth ₹51 lakh crore has been disbursed to farmers, showcasing the government’s commitment to the rural economy.

The Manufacturing Powerhouse Uttar Pradesh has emerged as India’s largest mobile manufacturing hub, contributing a staggering 65% of the country’s total output. Electronics exports have surged to ₹44,744 crore. The Finance Minister highlighted that following the success of the Global Investors Summit, MoUs worth ₹50 lakh crore have been signed, which are expected to generate approximately 10 lakh jobs for the youth. The state has also secured a spot in the “Leader Category” in National Startup Rankings.

Doubling Per Capita Income The economic turnaround of the state is reflected in the doubling of per capita income. From ₹54,564 in 2016-17, the per capita income has reached ₹1,09,844 and is projected to touch ₹1,20,000 by 2025-26. According to the government, 6 crore people have successfully moved above the poverty line.

Law, Order, and Future Infrastructure The Finance Minister emphasized that the state’s robust law and order have been the backbone of this economic surge. Plans to set up advanced Data Centers and strengthen women’s empowerment initiatives were also announced. This budget solidifies Uttar Pradesh’s position as a frontrunner in India’s developmental journey.
