Tollywood Mourns! Actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee Drowns During Shoot at Talsari Beach

A dark cloud of grief enveloped the Bengali entertainment industry this Sunday as versatile actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee passed away following a tragic accident during a shoot. The 43-year-old actor, widely known for his powerhouse performances in films and television, reportedly drowned at Talsari sea beach near Digha. He was filming for his ongoing television project ‘Bhole Baba Paar Karega’ when the incident occurred.
According to unit members, Rahul had accidentally fallen off a speedboat into the deep waters while a sequence was being shot. Despite immediate rescue efforts by the crew and local divers, he remained underwater for several minutes. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in Digha, where he was unfortunately declared dead on arrival. Rahul, whose acting journey began as a child artist in his father’s theatre group, had become a household name after his blockbuster debut opposite Priyanka Sarkar in Raj Chakraborty’s 2008 film ‘Chirodini Tumi Je Amar.’
His untimely demise comes at a time when he had recently reconciled with his actress-wife Priyanka Sarkar, bringing joy to his fans. Rahul was not just an actor but a prolific writer and a deep-rooted theatre enthusiast. His death has left the Tollywood community in total shock, with many prominent personalities expressing their deepest condolences. As per the latest updates, his body will be brought to Kolkata for final rites following the post-mortem examination.
