Prominent Tollywood director Utsav Mukherjee has been reported missing since Thursday afternoon. Despite an extensive search by the police and railway authorities, his whereabouts remain unknown as of Friday. According to police sources, his mobile phone’s last tower location was traced to the vicinity of Ultadanga Station.

The Disappearance: His wife, Maupia Banerjee, stated that Utsav left home for a bank in Nimta to handle a family account. Curiously, he left his own phone at home and took his father’s mobile. Their last conversation took place at 2:22 PM on Thursday, shortly after which his phone went dead.

The Cybercrime Link: Maupia revealed that Utsav was severely distressed recently due to some cybercrime-related issues, leading him to withdraw from social media. While he generally kept away from the industry’s social circles, his sudden disappearance has raised concerns. Police are currently scanning CCTV footages and investigating if the cyber-stress played a role in his vanishing act. No ransom calls have been received so far.
