Tensions flared in a local village after a TMC worker was accused of attempting to build a house by encroaching on a government road. Residents staged a massive protest, alleging that the party worker is misusing his political influence to obstruct a public thoroughfare that has been used for decades.

According to the villagers, the construction has significantly narrowed the road, making it impossible for larger vehicles, including ambulances, to pass.
