A cloud of gloom and suspicion has descended over Hyderabad’s Miyapur area following the mysterious death of Ishita Yadav, a 26-year-old software engineer. On Wednesday evening, Ishita was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her apartment. Her husband, Neeraj Bansal, who initially alerted the police, is now being questioned following allegations of dowry harassment and mental torture.

Ishita, a native of Bihar, and Neeraj, from Madhya Pradesh, had been in a relationship for five years before tying the knot on February 20 this year. However, the marital bliss was short-lived. Ishita’s parents have alleged that Neeraj was relentlessly pressuring her family to invest heavily in his new startup. The Miyapur Police have filed an FIR and sent the body for autopsy at Gandhi Hospital. Authorities are currently investigating whether the suicide was triggered by consistent dowry demands.
