Suvendu Adhikari Files Nomination from Nandigram! Predicts a Twin Blow for TMC in Nandigram and Bhawanipore

The political epicenter of West Bengal, Nandigram, witnessed a high-voltage drama today as BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari officially filed his nomination papers. Before submitting his nomination at the Sub-Divisional Officer’s office in Haldia, Suvendu led a massive roadshow and a public meeting, showcasing immense support from thousands of party workers. Following the process, a confident Adhikari didn’t just claim victory in Nandigram but also forecasted a shocking defeat for the TMC in the Bhawanipore constituency.

From early morning, Haldia was painted saffron as Suvendu moved in an open-top vehicle surrounded by a sea of supporters chanting slogans. Addressing the crowd, he launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, labeling her an “outsider” to the region. “Nandigram will choose its own ‘Bhumiputra’ (Son of the Soil). The people here have not forgotten the struggles, and they know who stood by them during the land movement,” Adhikari proclaimed.

Interestingly, Suvendu extended his victory claims beyond his own seat. He asserted that the wave of change is so strong that even Bhawanipore, a TMC stronghold, would fall to the BJP. “It’s not just Nandigram; Mamata Banerjee’s party will taste defeat in Bhawanipore as well. The people of Bengal are ready for ‘Asol Poriborton’ (Real Change),” he said. This double-edged claim has intensified the political atmosphere, putting pressure on the ruling camp.

The presence of Union Ministers Smriti Irani and Dharmendra Pradhan during the nomination underlined the significance the BJP national leadership is placing on this specific contest. Analysts suggest that the battle for Nandigram has transcended a typical assembly seat contest and has become a personal prestige fight between Suvendu and his former mentor. Suvendu’s aggressive stance and his bold predictions for both Nandigram and Bhawanipore have set the stage for one of the most historic electoral battles in modern Indian history.
