‘Stay for 365 Days, People Won’t Vote After Seeing Your Face!’ Mamata Retorts to Amit Shah

The political war of words in West Bengal has reached a fever pitch as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Responding to Shah’s announcement of staying in Bengal for 15 consecutive days before the polls, Mamata remarked at a Harirampur rally, “You say you’ll stay for 15 days to scare us? Stay for 365 days! The more people see your face, the more votes you will lose, because your face bears the marks of atrocities and riots.”
The confrontation began after Amit Shah, while accompanying Suvendu Adhikari for his nomination in Bhawanipur on Thursday, declared his intent to camp in the state for over two weeks. Mamata dismissed this as a mere intimidation tactic, calling BJP leaders “daily passengers” who vanish once the elections are over.
In a sensational claim, the TMC supremo also alleged that the BJP is plotting to carve out a new state by merging parts of Bihar and Bengal. “They will lose even before their plans succeed. We will defeat them in 2026,” she asserted. With Shah’s high-profile presence and Mamata’s fierce counter-offensive, the battle for Bengal is now a direct showdown between the state leadership and the central top brass.
