A heart-wrenching incident has emerged from the Kila Cantonment area of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, where a one-month-old infant girl died under mysterious circumstances. According to reports, the baby’s father, Mohammad Shadab, and mother, Heena, had left the infant alone in their rented room on Friday morning to beg for food with their two other children. Upon their return at 6 PM, they found the baby unresponsive.

Shadab, a former kite-string maker who lost his livelihood during the COVID-19 pandemic, stated that extreme poverty forced the family into begging. While locals allege the child died of starvation, the preliminary post-mortem report points toward chronic illness and infection. The police are currently investigating whether medical negligence or administrative failure played a role. Adding to the mystery, neighbors claim the couple had previously lost another child under similar conditions.
