Bahrain Creates World Record with Maiden Super Over in T20

Super overs have always created additional excitement among cricket fans, with the match’s outcome often determined in just six balls. The tension and thrill reach new heights during such critical moments. However, an unprecedented incident took place during a Super Over in an international T20 match.
On March 14, in a tri-nation series held in Malaysia, Bahrain faced Hong Kong in a match that eventually went to the Super Over. In a historic first, Bahrain failed to score any runs in their Super Over against Hong Kong. Bahrain, batting first in the Super Over, started with a dot ball from Ehsan Khan. In the subsequent two balls, Bahrain lost two quick wickets. Babar Hayat was caught on the second ball, and Sohail Ahmed was caught on the third. According to ICC regulations, with only two wickets allowed in a Super Over, Bahrain was all out within three balls.
Hong Kong then needed just one run to win and managed to achieve this with three balls remaining. Babar Hayat faced the first two dot balls, before taking a single on the third to seal the victory. This occurrence is a first in international T20 cricket, though similar events have happened in T20 leagues.
