The news spread like wildfire. Linking her death to Kohli’s dismissal for one run, the story gained more traction through word of mouth. Many began reacting in various ways. Amidst all the commotion, a media outlet featured the girl’s father, who revealed the actual incident surrounding his daughter’s death.

The deceased girl’s name was Priyanshi. Her father, Ajay Pandey, informed that on Sunday, everyone at home was watching the match together. After the first innings ended, he went to the market. When India started batting, Priyanshi sat down to watch the game. Suddenly, she lost consciousness. Coincidentally, at that moment, Kohli was batting. Just before Priyanshi lost consciousness, Kohli had gotten out for one run. Ajay mentioned that he received a call from home informing him that Priyanshi had fainted. She was immediately taken to the hospital but could not be saved. The doctors confirmed that Priyanshi had died due to a heart attack. Following this, rumors began spreading that the girl had died because she couldn’t bear Kohli getting out for one run. As this theory started gaining momentum, Priyanshi’s father claimed to a media outlet that there was no connection between his daughter’s death and Kohli getting out for one run.

A neighbor, Amit Chandra, also asserted that there was no link between Priyanshi’s death and the Champions Trophy final.
