Sikkim Rattled 39 Times in 4 Days! ‘Foreshock’ Warning Sparks Massive Fear in North Bengal

Sikkim has been hit by a staggering 39 earthquakes between Friday and Tuesday morning, with magnitudes ranging from 3 to 4 on the Richter scale. The tremors, which began late Friday night, have had a significant impact on several parts of North Bengal. In one alarming instance, 12 tremors were recorded in a span of just 4 hours and 12 minutes. The frequency of these quakes has remained high even through Tuesday morning.

Seismologists are labeling this phenomenon as a potential ‘Foreshock’—a series of smaller quakes that often precede a major, more destructive earthquake. Experts describe these tremors as arriving in “swarms,” similar to a plague of locusts. This high seismic activity is being viewed as a serious warning sign for West Bengal, suggesting that a significant disaster could be on the horizon as tectonic tension builds up in the Himalayan region.
