Shocker In Gangarampur! TMC Worker Shot From Point-Blank Range, Own Party Members Under Radar

Violence has cast a shadow over West Bengal following the announcement of the election schedule. In a chilling incident in Gangarampur, South Dinajpur, a Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker was shot at point-blank range on Saturday evening. The audacity of the attack has sent ripples of fear throughout the district. However, the most controversial aspect of the incident is the allegation that the shooter is a member of the same political outfit.

According to local reports, the victim was intercepted by assailants while he was on his way home. Eyewitnesses claimed that the attackers fired at him from an extremely close range before fleeing the spot. The injured worker was rushed to the Gangarampur Sub-divisional Hospital in a critical condition. Following the shootout, a massive police contingent was deployed to prevent any further escalation of violence in the area.

While the motive behind the attack is still being investigated, the victim’s family pointed fingers at a rival faction within the TMC, suggesting a deep-seated internal rivalry. The opposition BJP was quick to react, labeling the incident as a classic case of “syndicate raj” and internal power struggles within the ruling party. Although TMC district leadership has tried to downplay the political angle, the incident has highlighted the fragile peace in the region as it heads into the polls. Police are currently scanning CCTV footage and conducting raids to nab the suspects.
