Salman Ali Agha’s Bizarre Run-Out! Trolled by Own Country’s Police for Lack of Awareness
Pakistan’s Salman Ali Agha found himself in a peculiar spot after his controversial run-out during the series against Australia. While standing casually outside the crease after playing a ball, he was caught off guard by the wicketkeeper, leading to an embarrassing dismissal. However, the embarrassment didn’t end on the field. The Islamabad Police took to social media to use his dismissal as a creative trope for road safety.
In a viral post, the police shared a clip of the run-out with the caption: “Stay Alert… Whether it’s a traffic signal or the cricket crease, a split second of carelessness can lead to a disaster.” While the internet had a laugh at his expense, the ICC didn’t find his post-dismissal reaction funny. Agha was fined for a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct for showing dissent at the umpire’s decision. It seems Agha’s lapse in concentration proved costly both for his team and his pocket.
