“Sacks full of Form-6!” Mamata sends a stern letter to Gyanesh Kumar over ‘Outsider’ voters infiltration

Ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha elections, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has sounded a major alarm over alleged discrepancies in the voter registration process. In a strongly-worded letter addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, she flagged the submission of “sacks full of Form-6” (applications for new voters), suspecting a deep-rooted conspiracy to include ‘outsiders’ in the state’s electoral rolls.
This move comes shortly after TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee raised similar concerns before the State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO). Abhishek had alleged that thousands of Form-6 applications were being dumped at administrative offices, many of which are suspected to be from individuals who do not reside in the respective constituencies. Elevating the protest, Mamata Banerjee has now reached out to the national poll body to ensure the sanctity of the electoral process.
In her letter, the Chief Minister emphasized that the inclusion of undocumented or non-resident individuals in the voter list would compromise the fairness of the democratic exercise. She urged the Election Commission to conduct a rigorous verification process for all recently submitted applications. “The integrity of the voter list is non-negotiable. We will not allow outsiders to influence the mandate of the soil,” she asserted. With the poll bugle already sounded, Mamata’s aggressive stance highlights the TMC’s strategy to prevent any perceived electoral manipulation.
