Running out of LPG? These simple hacks will tell you exactly how much gas is left!

LPG cylinders are kitchen essentials, but running out of gas mid-cooking is a major inconvenience. Now, you don’t need special equipment to keep track of your gas levels. Here are four effective methods:
- The Chalk Method: Draw a long line with chalk from top to bottom on the cylinder. The damp part indicates where the liquid gas is, while the dry part is empty.
- The Wet Cloth Test: Wrap a wet cloth around the cylinder for 2-3 minutes. Remove it and observe; the area that dries quickly is empty, while the area that remains damp/cool still contains gas.
- Observe the Flame: A blue flame indicates proper pressure. A shift toward yellow or orange indicates that the gas is running low and the pressure is dropping.
- Weighing Method: Check the cylinder’s ‘Tare Weight’ written on it. Place the cylinder on a weighing scale, subtract the tare weight from the total weight, and the result is the amount of gas remaining.
These simple tricks will help you plan your refills efficiently, ensuring your kitchen work never comes to a halt!
