The long-awaited announcement for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections is finally here. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has convened a press conference today, March 15, at 4:00 PM to release the full schedule for West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. Since the term of the West Bengal Assembly ends on May 7, the voting is expected to take place in late April with the results likely in mid-May. After PM Modi’s mega rally on Saturday, all eyes are now on the poll panel to see if they reduce the number of phases from the previous eight to a more consolidated 2 to 4 phases.
