PM Modi to Land on Assam Highway! A Historic Leap in Infrastructure & Defense at Moran on Feb 14

In a massive display of infrastructure prowess and strategic mobility, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to script history in Assam on February 14. For the first time, the Prime Minister’s aircraft, along with several Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets, will land directly on a designated stretch of the National Highway in Moran, Assam. This move marks a significant milestone in India’s defense preparedness and high-speed infrastructure development.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the details of this high-octane visit, stating that the Prime Minister will arrive at Chabua Airport at approximately 9:50 AM this Saturday. From there, he will proceed to the Moran site, arriving by 10:00 AM. Within 30 minutes of his arrival, the skies will roar with a spectacular Air Show featuring the IAF’s frontline fighter jets. These aircraft, similar to those showcased in the recent Guwahati Air Show, will not only perform aerial maneuvers but will also execute precision landings on the highway-turned-runway.
The Moran stretch of the National Highway has been specifically reinforced to handle the immense pressure and speed of military aircraft. Recent viral videos on social media have already captured the IAF’s successful trial runs at the location, proving the stretch’s readiness for emergency landing scenarios. This capability is crucial for national security, especially in the strategic Northeast region, ensuring that air operations can continue even if primary airfields are compromised.
Following the events at Moran, PM Modi will head to Guwahati to inaugurate the magnificent Guwahati-North Guwahati Bridge over the Brahmaputra River. Described by the Chief Minister as an “architectural marvel,” this bridge is one of the few large-scale projects executed entirely by the State Public Works Department (PWD). To celebrate this achievement, the bridge will initially be opened for pedestrians only, allowing citizens to witness the grandeur of the structure before vehicular movement officially commences on March 1. PM Modi’s visit is not just a diplomatic tour but a grand showcase of the ‘New Assam’ and its soaring aspirations.
