In a gut-wrenching incident from Mumbai’s Cuffe Parade, a 50-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 20-year-old speech and hearing-impaired daughter. The arrest was made after a DNA test conclusively proved that the father was responsible for the victim’s pregnancy.

The Discovery of Crime: The matter came to light in September 2025, when the victim complained of abdominal pain to her grandmother through gestures. Upon medical examination, doctors found that she was five months pregnant. While the hospital alerted the police, the victim’s father initially refused to file a formal complaint or cooperate with the investigation, raising police suspicion.

DNA Test & Forensic Breakthrough: Initially, the police had arrested a 16-year-old and a 32-year-old based on the victim’s gestures. However, to be certain, the police collected DNA samples from 17 suspects in the locality, including the father. On January 27, 2026, the forensic report confirmed a 100% match between the DNA of the fetus and the biological father.

Police Action: Investigations revealed that the horrific crime took place repeatedly between March and September 2025. “While others were suspected earlier, the DNA evidence has now nailed the father’s involvement,” a police official stated. The accused is now in custody, and a charge sheet is being prepared under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
