‘Owaisi is Modern-Day Jinnah, Humayun Kabir Aspires to be Suhrawardy!’ Sukanta Majumdar’s Shocking Claim

In a highly polarized election speech, Union Minister and BJP MP Sukanta Majumdar stirred a political hornet’s nest during his campaign in the Tapan assembly segment. Speaking to a charged crowd, Majumdar drew sharp historical parallels, accusing opposition leaders of reviving the divisive ideologies of the pre-independence era.

Historical Parallels and Accusations: Launching a direct attack, Majumdar stated, “Asaduddin Owaisi is acting as the modern-day Mohammad Ali Jinnah, while leaders like Humayun Kabir from the TMC are trying to emulate H.S. Suhrawardy.” By invoking the names associated with the partition and the Great Calcutta Killings, Majumdar aimed to highlight what he calls the “dangerous trend of communal appeasement” in West Bengal. He warned that the state’s social fabric is being threatened for petty electoral gains.

Criticism of Mamata Banerjee and SIR: Majumdar also took a swipe at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the ongoing controversy over the Special Investigation Report (SIR) and voter list corrections. He alleged that the TMC is panicking as its “bogus voter base” is being identified and removed. “Mamata Banerjee is using the victim card to hide her failure in governance and to protect illegal immigrants,” Majumdar asserted. His aggressive stance in Tapan has set a firm tone for the BJP’s narrative as the state moves closer to the 2026 assembly showdown.
