Railways Issues Stern Warning Against Taking Photos at Stations

New Delhi: The Indian Railways has taken a significant step to counter espionage activities within the country, issuing a special appeal to bloggers and YouTubers. This decision comes amidst concerns about individuals photographing sensitive locations and transmitting them to Pakistan.
Eastern Railway has specifically requested all YouTubers and bloggers to refrain from taking photos and videos at stations. This measure has been implemented in the interest of national security.
The railway authorities also announced increased surveillance at stations to ensure that no one photographs critical locations. An Eastern Railway spokesperson stated, “Photography within station premises and platforms has been prohibited. A decision has been made to enhance security at stations across the country.”
The spokesperson further noted that many YouTubers and bloggers create videos at stations or on platforms, which is a significant concern in the current situation. Despite existing prohibitions across all sections and divisions, many individuals disregard these rules. YouTubers and bloggers are once again being reminded of railway regulations. While media outlets are permitted to take photographs, the general public is prohibited from doing so at railway stations and platforms.
Notably, Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra was arrested following the India-Pakistan conflict. Malhotra was accused of leaking confidential Indian information to Pakistan by photographing various locations and transmitting the images.
