Intense uncertainty plagues the future of the popular Bollywood franchise ‘Hera Pheri 3’. Amidst this deadlock, Sunil Shetty, one of the film’s lead actors, has now spoken out, expressing his astonishment at the news of Paresh Rawal’s sudden departure.¹ Shetty unequivocally stated that the film is unthinkable without Baburao (Paresh Rawal).

“One Hundred Percent Impossible Without Paresh-ji!”

In an interview, Sunil Shetty firmly declared, “‘Hera Pheri’ cannot happen without Paresh-ji. It’s one hundred percent impossible! There might be a one percent chance of me not being there, or perhaps even if Akshay Kumar isn’t there, it might work 1%… but if Paresh-ji isn’t there, it’s one hundred percent impossible.” His comments have rekindled hope among the film’s fans.

Raju-Shyam-Baburao: The Lifeblood of ‘Hera Pheri’

Sunil Shetty believes that the true essence of the ‘Hera Pheri’ series lies in the extraordinary chemistry of the trio: Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Sunil Shetty), and Baburao (Paresh Rawal). This strong bond, he asserts, was forged by Baburao himself. Shetty explained, “It was Baburao who rented us both! That’s where it all began. Without him, the chemistry between Raju and Shyam will fall apart.”

Paresh Rawal’s Exit: Sunil’s Surprise and Reaction

Sunil Shetty revealed that he first learned about Paresh Rawal leaving the film from his children, Athiya and Ahan Shetty.² At the time, he was busy promoting the film ‘Kheri Veer’. Sunil recounted, “Both of them sent me the news simultaneously, along with a question – ‘Dad, what is this?’ I was stunned.”

Currently, Sunil is working with Paresh Rawal on the film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, which also features Akshay Kumar. Therefore, he is greatly surprised by his co-star’s sudden decision to withdraw. Shetty further added, “I myself was looking forward to ‘Hera Pheri 3’. I wanted to see the old trio together on screen again. I will contact him to find out what actually happened behind his departure.”

Sunil also agrees with director Priyadarshan’s statement, believing that this tangle will only be resolved when Baburao, or Paresh Rawal, returns. “‘No film without Paresh Babu Bhaiya Rawal’ – this seems to be the final word from ‘Hera Pheri’ fans! It remains to be seen how ‘Hera Pheri 3’ will extricate itself from this complex situation.
