Nushrat Bharucha: Solace in Shiva, trolling useless

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Nushrat Bharucha has opened up about religious trolling, expressing her faith in all religions. Despite being a Muslim, she visits Kedarnath, Vaishno Devi and churches, for which she has faced criticism on social media. In Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Nushrat said, “I found peace in Kedarnath. Shiva is solace for me. I also offer namaaz, but God is one, the paths are different.” Nushrat told that her family is liberal and considers faith personal. She lights candles in the church with her aunt and also offers namaaz five times a day. “I find peace in every prayer. I went to Vaishno Devi, went to church, and in Kedarnath, I made a wish in Nandi’s ear,” she shared. Nushrat’s stand on trolling is clear: “Whatever people say in the comments, I will continue both temple and namaaz.” Social analyst Reena Sharma praised his thinking and said, “Nusrat’s talk gives the message of religious unity.”
This statement reflects Nusrat’s personal faith and religious tolerance, which is relevant in today’s polarized environment. His open-mindedness not only answers the trolls but also teaches the youth the importance of freedom of personal belief. This incident revives the debate on religious unity and personal freedom.
