That funny moment of marriage
Vicky Kaushal had come to Kapil Sharma’s show with Kiara Advani for the promotion of his film ‘Govinda Aala Re’ (2022). During the conversation, Kapil asked Vicky about the famous ‘Juta Churai’ ritual of his marriage. Kapil quipped, “Vicky paaji, Katrina has six sisters. The ritual of Juta Churai must have cost you a lot?” Vicky burst out laughing at this question and then began the funny story of that day.

Vicky said, “Paaji, that day was amazing in itself. Katrina’s sisters did not know much about the ritual of Juta Churai at first. But when they understood, they said that whether they get married or not, this ritual has to be done.” Vicky further said, “My two brothers had come from Ludhiana. They told me with great confidence that don’t worry, we will handle everything. But as soon as the ritual started in the mandap, Katrina’s sisters started pulling the shoes. My brothers also did not back off, there was a tussle from both sides. Finally I said, ‘Get lost, take whatever you want and go.’”

The drama of sunset and shoes

Vicky’s story did not end here. He told that after stealing the shoes, Katrina’s sisters hid somewhere with them. It was afternoon and after the wedding rituals were over, Katrina had to get some special pictures clicked at sunset. Vicky said laughingly, “The wedding rituals were over, the best match was found, but the groom did not have shoes. The sun was setting and Katrina was in a hurry for the photoshoot. Suddenly she scolded me, ‘Where is your shoe?’ I said, ‘We are at the wedding, your sisters have the shoes.’”

On hearing this, Katrina lost her temper. Vicky further said, “Katrina lined up her sisters like a parade and said, ‘Now bring the shoes.’ The sisters said, ‘We are bringing them, back pass!’ I said, ‘Hi pass, I don’t know, bring the shoes before sunset.’ In the end, everyone ran around and got the shoes back for free.” Hearing this anecdote, Kapil and the audience burst into laughter.
