nsult to CM Yogi’s Mother! UP STF Arrests Madrasa Imam from Bihar After Outrage

The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested a Madrasa Imam from Bihar for allegedly making derogatory and offensive remarks about CM Yogi Adityanath’s mother. The accused, Maulana Abdullah Salim Chaturvedi, a resident of Araria district in Bihar, reportedly made the disparaging comments during a religious gathering while criticizing UP’s cow slaughter laws.
The incident came to light after a video clip of his speech went viral on social media, triggering a wave of protests across Uttar Pradesh. More than 80 FIRs were registered against the Maulana in various districts, including Bahraich and Balrampur, under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Following the outcry, an STF team tracked the cleric to Purnia, Bihar, and took him into custody on Monday night. In cities like Lucknow, enraged youths burnt effigies of the Maulana, stating that insulting a mother is an attack on the values of the entire state. The police are currently interrogating the accused as part of further legal proceedings.
