Tollywood is reeling under a wave of tragedies as the industry loses another prominent figure. Renowned dancer Dipali Chakraborty, mother of acclaimed actresses Sudipta and Bidipta Chakraborty, passed away at a private hospital in Kolkata this Thursday. She was 75.

The matriarch of the Chakraborty family had been hospitalized for the past two days following neurological complications. Despite undergoing surgery, she could not be saved. Her daughter Bidipta shared a poignant tribute on social media, writing, “Stay well, Ma.” Dipali was the wife of the late veteran actor Biplabketan Chakraborty and was known for her vibrant personality and deep bond with her daughters and granddaughters.

This loss comes at an especially difficult time for Sudipta Chakraborty, who was already grieving the sudden death of her close friend and colleague, actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee. Rahul tragically passed away on March 29 while shooting, and Sudipta was seen breaking down at his funeral just days ago. The twin tragedies have left the Bengali film fraternity in deep mourning, with celebrities and fans pouring in their condolences for the bereaved family.
