“Nobody is a Permanent Candidate!” Mamata Banerjee Issues Stern Warning to Discontented Ticket-Seekers

In a move to curb potential rebellion within the Trinamool Congress ahead of the 2026 Assembly Elections, Party Supremo Mamata Banerjee has sent a clear and firm message to all aspirants. Speaking at a massive rally in Medinipur, she warned that any form of factionalism or public protest over ticket distribution would not be tolerated. “It is impossible to give tickets to everyone. We must provide opportunities to newcomers. If someone thinks they will remain a candidate forever, they are mistaken,” she asserted.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for generational change within the party, urging senior leaders to step back and mentor the next generation. She made it clear that organizational loyalty must come before personal ambition. “The party is bigger than any individual. If you are not chosen, work for the symbol instead of creating divisions,” she added. As TMC prepares its final list for the 2026 battle, Mamata’s stance signals a major overhaul aimed at bringing fresh energy and professional merit into the legislative ranks while weeding out non-performers and dissenters.
