No ₹1500 for Yuvashakti Beneficiaries in April? CM Mamata Banerjee Breaks Silence on Payment Delay

With the elections around the corner, the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government is leaving no stone unturned in reaching out to voters through its social welfare schemes. Amidst the buzz, a significant update has emerged regarding the ‘Yuvashakti’ (Yuvashree) project, which provides a monthly stipend of ₹1,500 to the state’s unemployed youth.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that there will be a delay in the disbursement of funds for the month of April. Addressing the issue, the CM revealed that the administrative system has detected a large number of duplicate and fraudulent applications. In many cases, multiple forms were submitted under the same identity, leading to a temporary halt in the payment process.
The Chief Minister assured genuine beneficiaries that they have nothing to worry about. “Everyone who has applied correctly will receive their money. We are calling those with disputed applications for further verification,” she stated. While this procedural delay has sparked discussions in political circles, the government’s focus remains on sanitizing the beneficiary list to ensure transparency before the polls.
