Name Missing from Voter List? Appeal Directly to Judges! EC Forms 19 Special Tribunals; Full List Inside

In a landmark decision to ensure every eligible citizen can vote, the Election Commission has constituted 19 special tribunals led by retired high-profile judges. These tribunals will handle appeals regarding the exclusion or deletion of names from the supplementary voter list. The panel includes heavyweight legal figures such as former Calcutta HC Chief Justice T.S. Sivagnanam and retired Justices Biswajit Basu, Ranjit Kumar Bag, and Samapti Chatterjee.
The process for filing an appeal is user-friendly, offering both online and offline modes. Citizens can use the ‘ECI NET’ mobile app or the Commission’s official website for digital submissions. Alternatively, physical applications can be submitted to District Magistrates (DM), Additional District Magistrates (ADM), or Sub-Divisional Officers (SDO). These tribunals are authorized to start working immediately and will dissolve once all appeals are resolved.
