Musk Not Involved: Modi-Trump Call Focused Solely on West Asia Crisis, Says MEA

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) today issued a definitive clarification regarding the recent telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump. Following reports from several international news outlets claiming that billionaire Elon Musk was present during the call at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, New Delhi has formally dismissed these assertions. The MEA emphasized that the interaction was a strictly bilateral diplomatic engagement between the two heads of state.

Addressing the media, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that the dialogue centered almost exclusively on the escalating volatility in West Asia. Prime Minister Modi shared his concerns regarding the regional conflict and reiterated India’s stand on peace and dialogue to restore stability in the Middle East. Both leaders agreed on the necessity of preventing the conflict from spreading further, acknowledging the impact it has on global security and energy markets.

The clarification aims to quell growing speculation about the influence of private tech moguls in official US-India diplomatic channels. While Trump has frequently praised Musk as a “special talent” within his inner circle, the Indian government maintained that the call followed traditional diplomatic protocols. The conversation reportedly reaffirmed the strategic partnership between the world’s two largest democracies, focusing on counter-terrorism and global economic cooperation, leaving no room for third-party participation as suggested by foreign media reports.
