Mamata-Abhishek Duo to Kickstart Mega Campaign from Tuesday; TMC Expands Outreach Across Districts

With exactly one month to go before the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly Elections on April 23, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has significantly ramped up its outreach program. Starting Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the party will launch a massive double-front campaign led by Chairperson Mamata Banerjee and National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee.

Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to begin her on-ground rallies from North Bengal’s Alipurduar, followed by meetings in Jalpaiguri and Siliguri. Simultaneously, Abhishek Banerjee will kick off his campaign from Patharpratima in South 24 Parganas, moving towards the high-stakes Nandigram constituency on March 25. This parallel strategy aims to counter the BJP’s influence in both the northern and southern belts of the state.

Addressing party workers in Bhabanipur recently, Mamata Banerjee urged them to remain vigilant and avoid complacency. She also voiced concerns over the Election Commission’s decision to transfer 50 senior officials, labeling it a “premeditated move” by the Centre. Emphasizing the voter list issue, she promised legal and financial aid to those whose names might be deleted in the SIR supplementary list. With Abhishek Banerjee setting a target of a 60,000-vote victory margin for the CM in Bhabanipur, the TMC is leaving no stone unturned in its bid to retain power in the 2026 battle.
