Major Facelift for Kandi! Fencing Work Starts at 35 Key Points to Prevent Accidents & Boost Aesthetics

The Kandi Municipality in Murshidabad district is undergoing a significant transformation under the leadership of Chairman Jaydeb Ghatak. To prioritize citizen safety and urban beautification, the municipality has identified 35 critical points across the city for installing modern iron fencing.
Combatting Accidental Plunges The move comes as a response to frequent accidents where e-rickshaws (Totos) and small vehicles would skid into ponds or the Swarupkhali canal. Under the ‘Amar Para Amader Samadhan’ scheme, the municipality is securing these edges with sturdy iron barriers.
Currently, work is progressing rapidly in Wards 3 and 11, with plans to cover all 18 wards. Residents have expressed their gratitude, noting that this project not only secures their daily commute but also gives the historic town a cleaner, more organized look. Chairman Ghatak emphasized that the project aims to fulfill long-standing public demands for better infrastructure and safety measures.
