A high-speed pickup van met with a tragic accident in Paschim Medinipur after one of its tires burst unexpectedly on Monday. The impact of the tire burst was so severe that the driver lost control instantly, causing the vehicle to flip multiple times before coming to a halt in the middle of the road.

Locals rushed to the spot immediately after hearing the loud explosion of the tire. They managed to rescue the driver and the helper, who were trapped inside the mangled vehicle. Both have been shifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The accident led to a massive traffic snarl on the busy highway. Police officials arrived shortly after and cleared the wreckage using a crane. An investigation is underway to determine if overspeeding or overloading caused the tire to burst.
