‘Maintain Peace & Harmony’: CM Mamata’s Special Message On Ram Navami Amid Poll Season

With the 2026 Assembly Elections around the corner, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has issued a strong appeal for peace and communal harmony ahead of the Ram Navami celebrations. Emphasizing that festivals should be a time for joy rather than discord, the CM urged citizens not to fall prey to any provocations or rumors.

Following the CM’s directive, the state administration at Nabanna and top brass of the West Bengal Police have dispatched a comprehensive security protocol to all District Magistrates and SPs. Key measures include:

  • Pre-Approved Routes: No processions will be allowed on routes that have not received prior police clearance.
  • Drone Surveillance: Sensitive and mixed-population zones will be monitored using drones to ensure order.
  • Weapon Ban: A strict ban has been placed on the display of unauthorized weapons during the rallies.
  • Social Media Monitoring: The Cyber Cell will be working 24/7 to track and curb the spread of inflammatory content.

Given the sensitive electoral climate, both state and central forces are being coordinated to prevent any untoward incidents. Special focus remains on districts like Howrah, Hooghly, and North Dinajpur, which have seen tensions in previous years. The administration is determined to ensure that the electoral process and religious festivities coexist without any breach of law and order.
