Hindu Woman Raped Bangladesh Outraged Protests Erupt

Bangladesh is witnessing widespread condemnation and protests following the rape of a Hindu woman in Cumilla. Students, particularly from Dhaka University, have taken to the streets of Dhaka, demanding exemplary punishment for those responsible for this heinous crime. Police have arrested Fazar Ali, the main accused and a known local BNP leader, from Dhaka. Four others have also been detained, with three allegedly involved in recording and disseminating the incident’s video on social media.

The tragic incident occurred on June 26 in Ramchandrapur Pachkitta village, Cumilla. The victim was at her father’s home attending a local Hindu religious event. According to the complaint, Fazar Ali forcibly entered her room and assaulted her. Police have filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and are investigating. This incident has raised serious questions about women’s safety and the security of religious minorities in Bangladesh.
