India to Manufacture Rafale Fighter Jet Airframes, Tata Creates History

India is set to enhance its foreign defense equipment manufacturing capabilities. French company Dassault Aviation has signed an agreement with Indian firm Tata Advanced Systems Limited. Under this agreement, Rafale fighter jet airframes will be manufactured in India, specifically in Hyderabad. Production at this new facility is expected to commence in 2028.
This move marks a significant milestone for India’s defense industry. It will not only bolster the nation’s self-reliance but also strengthen India’s position in the global supply of defense equipment. Notably, this is the first time Rafale fighter jet airframes will be manufactured outside of France, highlighting India’s growing importance in international defense production.
