Mahoba: A 26-year-old married woman and a YouTuber were murdered in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba district due to an illicit relationship. The woman named Rani and YouTuber Amit were in a love affair for the past one year. Rani’s husband Ramesh came to know about this relationship and warned them many times. But Amit did not stop associating with Rani. Finally, Ramesh planned to remove Amit with his wife.

On the night of May 25, Rani called Amit on Chinhi Road and called him. When Amit reached there on a bike, Rani started talking to him. At that time, Ramesh along with his friends attacked Amit. After beating him severely with sticks and rods, Amit died on the spot. After the murder, the husband and wife left the body on the roadside and fled.

Police arrested Rani and Ramesh based on CCTV footage and questioning of locals. During interrogation, both confessed to the crime. Police recovered the stick and rod used in the murder. It is to be noted that Amit was a bike riding YouTuber and was known for his blog. The autopsy found evidence of serious injuries to Amit’s head and chest, which is the cause of his death.

Such incidents have happened before in North India. In April 2025, a wife in Bihar’s Banka district killed her husband with her lover and severed his head from his body after her husband objected to her illegal relationship. Three people were arrested in this incident. Similarly, in March 2025, a newlywed from Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya killed her husband with her lover 15 days after their wedding. The murderer was given a ‘betel nut’ of Rs 2 lakh.
