Patient’s Body Scorched During Appendix Surgery, Family Shocked

Deficiencies in the state’s healthcare system have frequently come to light. Incidents of patients losing their lives due to negligence in government hospitals have been reported. Many government hospitals treat patients under conditions of inadequate staff and old, faulty equipment.
However, there have also been instances of doctors making significant errors during patient treatment. One such bizarre incident has now emerged in Washim district, where a patient’s skin was burned during surgery. The patient’s relatives have filed a police complaint regarding this incident.
What Happened?
A sensational incident has come to light at Washim District Hospital, where a patient’s abdominal skin was scorched during an appendix operation. The patient’s relatives complained that doctors did not inform them about the incident after it occurred. A complaint has been filed at Washim police station in this regard.
Upon Seeing Burn Marks on the Abdomen…
Ataullah Khan of Shirpur experienced abdominal pain and underwent a sonography at a private hospital. For further treatment, he was admitted to the District General Hospital. His operation was performed on May 19. However, two days after the operation, when the patient’s relatives saw burn marks on his abdomen, they immediately sought an explanation from the doctors. The doctors attributed the incident to “technical malfunction” and described it as unintentional. Nevertheless, the relatives have accused hospital authorities of gross negligence and filed a police complaint.
Demand for Strict Punishment for Doctors and Staff
Attempts were made to obtain a statement from the doctors regarding this matter. However, they refused to comment. The patient’s family has demanded strict punishment for the doctors and staff. No official explanation has been provided by the health department so far.
On the other hand, based on the patient’s relative’s complaint, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. This incident has raised questions about the functioning of government hospitals, the condition of technical equipment, and safety protocols during operations.
