A tragic incident has come to light in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district, raising questions about the sanctity of relationships. Baghpat Police have finally uncovered the mystery behind the murder of Himanshu, which occurred five months ago.

The main accused in this horrific murder is none other than the victim’s cousin, Akshay Fauji, whom the police have arrested and sent to jail. The motive behind the killing was Himanshu’s alleged illicit relationship with Akshay’s wife, which ignited a fire of hatred within the family.

Unveiling a Horrific Conspiracy

The incident took place in Basi village, under Khekra Kotwali area of Baghpat. Himanshu, a resident of Chhur village in Meerut, had come to stay at his maternal uncle’s house. On the night of December 30, 2024, Himanshu was shot dead, and his body was thrown into the Hindon River. Akshay Fauji, along with eight other members of his family, committed this act. The Additional Superintendent of Police, Baghpat, stated that Akshay’s wife’s illicit relationship with Himanshu led to this conspiracy.

Police had previously arrested and jailed the victim’s maternal uncle Omkar, maternal aunt Rajesh, Tannu, and Yogendra in connection with this incident. Himanshu’s body was recovered from the Hindon River after 36 days, making the case even more serious.

Akshay Fauji’s Arrest a Result of Police Vigilance

The prime accused, Akshay Fauji, had fled after the murder and returned to his military duty. Police had announced a reward of $25,000 for his capture. Recently, while Akshay was secretly returning to his village Basi at night, the Baghpat SWAT team and Khekra police station apprehended him. Based on information provided by Akshay, the police also recovered the pistol used in the murder.
