Amanpreet Kaur, a former Punjab Police constable widely known on social media as the ‘Thar Wali Constable’ and ‘Instagram Queen’, has finally been arrested. She was apprehended by the Punjab State Anti-Narcotics Task Force on charges of drug trafficking and disproportionate assets. Kaur’s lavish lifestyle, boasting a multi-million dollar house, several expensive cars, and bikes, had been under the scanner of investigators for quite some time. She owns a 1 crore rupee house and a plot of land purchased for 19 lakh rupees in Bathinda. Among her opulent possessions are a Mahindra Thar, a Royal Enfield motorcycle, a wristwatch worth 1 lakh rupees, and three phones valued at 56,000 rupees. Additionally, 1 lakh rupees were found in her bank account. According to police sources, she was arrested from the residence of popular Punjabi singer Afsana Khan, where she was staying as a friend of Afsana’s sister, Raftar Kaur.

Investigators have further revealed that over the past seven years, Amanpreet Kaur earned 1.88 crore rupees, while her expenditure amounted to 1.39 crore rupees. This indicates an excess expenditure of 31 lakh rupees compared to her declared income, the source of which the Task Force is now probing. Last month, 17 grams of heroin were recovered from Amanpreet’s vehicle, which led to her dismissal from service. Now, with her arrest on charges of disproportionate assets, more details about her mysterious and extravagant life are expected to surface. Investigations are ongoing to determine her connection with drug cartels and how she amassed such significant wealth. This arrest has sent ripples through the Punjab Police circles and sparked discussions among her social media followers.
