Pakistan’s “Brotherhood Tour”: PM Sharif Thanks Key Allies Amidst Regional Tensions!

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently on a diplomatic whirlwind, embarking on a four-nation tour that has seen him visit Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, and soon, Tajikistan. This extensive trip comes at a crucial time, as Pakistan seeks to solidify its regional alliances and counter growing international pressure, particularly from India. During his visits, Sharif has consistently emphasized a profound sense of “brotherhood” with the leaders of these nations, highlighting their unwavering support for Pakistan amidst recent geopolitical developments. This strategic outreach is seen as a direct response to India’s own vigorous diplomatic efforts to garner global support and expose Pakistan’s alleged role in cross-border terrorism.

Upon his arrival in Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Sharif held a significant meeting with President Ilham Aliyev in the picturesque city of Lachin. Expressing his gratitude on social media platform ‘X’, Sharif acknowledged Azerbaijan’s “unwavering support for Pakistan in the recent Pakistan-India conflict.” He further affirmed a shared commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations across all sectors and working collaboratively for regional peace and prosperity. This deep sense of camaraderie, Sharif articulated, is rooted in the “love and affection between our peoples, whose hearts beat as one.” Prior to Azerbaijan, Sharif’s stops in Turkey and Iran saw similar expressions of fraternal ties. In Turkey, he met with President Erdogan, and in Iran, with President Pezeshkian and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, all reinforcing Pakistan’s bond with these nations. The tour concludes with Tajikistan, a country also reportedly standing with Pakistan against India, where Sharif will also participate in an international conference on glaciers in Dushanbe.
