The popular 90s television show “Shaktimaan” is making a comeback in a new avatar. Mukesh Khanna, who famously portrayed the superhero Shaktimaan, will now lend his voice to a new audio series on Pocket FM. This news has sparked excitement, bridging nostalgia for older fans with a fresh introduction for a new generation.
Mukesh Khanna, who captivated millions as Shaktimaan, stated that the character was more than just a television series; it left a profound mark on viewers’ hearts. He is eager to reach new audiences through Pocket FM’s extensive reach across India for this audio series.
The audio series is a joint venture with Mukesh Khanna’s Bhishma International. The company announced that the series will feature new adventures and stories. It aims to evoke nostalgia for those who grew up watching Shaktimaan while also serving as a special treat for new audiences.
In an earlier interview with the Indian news agency ANI, Mukesh Khanna had said, “I fulfilled my responsibility. It started in 1997 and continued until 2005. I believe my work should reach the public by 2027. Because today’s generation is running blindly.” His comments suggest his desire to convey a positive message to the younger generation through Shaktimaan.
“Shaktimaan” originally aired on Doordarshan from September 13, 1997, to March 27, 2005. Mukesh Khanna had previously announced plans for a Shaktimaan movie, with rumors even suggesting Ranbir Singh would play the lead role. However, Khanna dismissed those rumors. Now, the popular superhero character is returning to audiences through this audio series. This initiative is expected to delight old fans and introduce the essence of Shaktimaan to new listeners.
