Five Terrifying Restaurants Worldwide: Will Your Heart Tremble with Fear?

Most people go to restaurants to enjoy their favorite food and spend personal time. But have you ever been to a restaurant where you eat next to graves or from a ‘cut-up’ human body? Surprisingly, such establishments truly exist, earning them the title of the world’s most terrifying restaurants.

These restaurants are quite popular, as the thrill of dining while being scared is reportedly unique. Let’s explore five of the world’s most terrifying restaurants:

Dinner in the Sky, Belgium

Dinner in the Sky is a famous Belgian restaurant that serves a five-course meal suspended in mid-air, approximately 160 feet above the ground. The chairs and tables at this restaurant float, making you feel like you’re eating on a Ferris wheel. There are 22 tables available, but before dining, you must sign a waiver for a one-crore dollar insurance policy. It’s best avoided by those with height phobia. Besides Belgium, this restaurant has branches in 45 other countries worldwide.

Mug House Pub, Worcestershire, England

As you step through the entrance of England’s Mug House Pub, you’ll feel transported to a different world. A beautiful path leads through a winding labyrinth before you find yourself in a graveyard. The pub offers a bar, seating, and all sorts of entertainment. Spooky sounds occasionally echo from all directions, sending shivers down your spine.

New Lucky Restaurant, Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Visiting the New Lucky Restaurant in Gujarat might leave you confused, as it resembles a graveyard more than a restaurant. However, upon closer inspection, you’ll realize it is indeed a graveyard. The owner, Krishnan Kutti, opened the restaurant next to the graves with the belief that eating alongside the deceased brings good karma. This restaurant is situated right next to 17th-century graves, which he has enclosed with railings, placing tables and chairs beside them. Their ‘palak paneer’ is particularly famous.

Fortezza Medicea, Italy

The Mortiza Medicea restaurant in Italy opened its doors in 2007. It’s located in the famous La Fortezza, or The Fortress, an ancient European castle built in 1474. Currently, the fortress functions as a prison. Surprisingly, the prison inmates run the restaurant and prepare the food. For security reasons, plastic dinnerware is used. The inmates also serve the food and play the piano while guests dine. This restaurant is so popular that it’s difficult to get a reservation without booking at least a week in advance.

Nyotaimori, Tokyo, Japan

Japan is home to a bizarre restaurant in its capital, Tokyo, called Nyotaimori, which is world-renowned. Here, food is served on the bodies of naked women. However, these are not real women but rather female mannequins elaborately decorated with various dishes. Guests use specific knives and forks to ‘cut’ into this mock body. As food is cut from the body, ‘blood’ (which is also fake) flows out. The ‘internal organs,’ also edible, are arranged alongside the ‘dismembered’ body. While it’s all fake, the experience is truly terrifying.
