In a sensational development in the Jyoti Malhotra case, where she was arrested by Haryana Police on suspicion of being a Pakistani ‘spy,’ information has emerged revealing a Kolkata connection. It is learned that the YouTuber had visited Kolkata just a few months before her arrest. Beyond Kolkata, she also frequented various parts of the city, as well as Barrackpore and several locations in North Bengal.

These details surfaced during the investigation after Haryana Police arrested Jyoti.

Investigators, following Jyoti Malhotra’s YouTube channel, noticed her presence in several areas that are highly sensitive for the Indian Army and Air Force. According to police sources, while in Kolkata, Jyoti filmed videos of several crowded areas, tourist spots, and Sealdah Station. Additionally, she was seen creating reels at a biryani shop in Barrackpore. Notably, Barrackpore is known as an important hub for the Indian Army, Air Force, and state police. Last August, Jyoti also mentioned in her YouTube video that she was traveling to Bhutan via Bagdogra. At that time, she was staying in a hotel in Siliguri. Bagdogra and its surrounding areas also have a military presence. In this context, intelligence agencies are questioning whether Jyoti visited these places with the intention of gathering military-related information.

Haryana Police and the central intelligence agency IB are investigating to determine Jyoti’s true intentions. It is also understood that Jyoti had attended a wedding in Sheoraphuli, Hooghly. Police have begun inquiries into Jyoti’s relationship with that household and why she was invited.

Meanwhile, another Kolkata-based YouTuber has come under police scrutiny in connection with this incident. It has been learned that a vlogger named Soumit Bhattacharya showed Jyoti around Kolkata. Furthermore, Jyoti and Soumit even traveled to Doodhpathri in Kashmir together. They were accompanied by Priyanka Senapati, another YouTuber from Odisha. Soumit came under the scanner of intelligence agencies after this information surfaced on social media. It is reported that Soumit, a resident of Asansol, is the son of a college principal in Uluberia and his mother is a professor at Indraprastha University in Delhi. However, Soumit has chosen travel as his profession and works as a travel vlogger.
