A highly unusual and horrifying incident has caused a stir in Kanthi, Purba Medinipur. A young man in Sreerampur village is accused of digging up a grave in broad daylight, extracting a corpse, propping it up, and taking selfies with it. When locals witnessed this, they severely beat him. Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene, leading to a clash with the public.

The incident occurred this morning at the burial ground next to the cremation ghat in Sreerampur village, Kanthi. Around 10 AM, while villagers were busy with their daily routines, a strange rumor spread – a young man had reportedly dug up a grave and removed a corpse! Initially, no one believed it. But within moments, the situation became clear. It was alleged that a young man had indeed pulled a corpse out of a grave near the village cremation ground, propped it up with a bamboo stick, and was taking selfies. Upon seeing this, local residents erupted in anger.

Within no time, the crowd swarmed the young man. Who was he? Why did he remove the corpse from the grave? No specific answers were received from the youth. Instead, his behavior showed a kind of abnormality, which deepened suspicions. Some said it was an attempt at tantric rituals, others claimed he was a member of an organ trafficking ring. Still others, observing his abnormal behavior, suggested he might have lost his mental balance. However, the agitated crowd was unwilling to listen to any of his explanations. The young man was severely beaten. After the beating, he was confined to a room in the village.

The young man’s condition is serious due to the mob beating. Therefore, he has not yet been thoroughly interrogated. The Police Superintendent stated that only after questioning will it become clear whether he was part of any conspiracy or if he performed such an abnormal act due to mental imbalance.
