Danger from office coffee machine: Risk of heart diseases, research reveals

Do you start your day with the office coffee machine? If yes, then be careful! A recent research has revealed that coffee made from the office coffee machine can pose a serious threat to your heart. This study conducted in Sweden has raised questions on the quality of coffee machines used in offices. Researchers analyzed samples of 14 machines from four offices and found that the elements present in them can increase ‘bad’ cholesterol (LDL) in the body.
According to this research published in the journal Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Disease, elements like cafestol and kahweol were found in coffee made from office machines, which harm heart health. Researcher Dr. Lina Holm said, “Office coffee is less conducive to health than paper filter coffee at home. Drinking paper filter coffee three times a week can reduce cholesterol levels.” This small change can protect employees from heart diseases.
Office managements now need to install better filter machines or encourage employees to bring coffee from home. Medical experts say that coffee in moderation can be beneficial, but it is better to stay away from office machines. “I did not know that my daily cup of coffee could do so much harm. Now I will bring coffee from home,” said employee Smita Sharma. This research is a warning to coffee lovers.
