It can also lead to a condition called nephrocalcinosis, in which calcium gets deposited in the kidney tissues.”
Apart from dairy products like milk, yogurt, cheese, bananas, green leafy vegetables, almonds and soy milk also contain high amounts of calcium. Only limited consumption of these is safe for you.
Rising sodium levels: Attack on the kidneys
If you like salty or spicy food, then this habit can put your kidneys at risk. Consuming too much sodium not only increases the risk of high blood pressure, but also affects kidney health. According to a study, excess sodium increases the amount of protein in the urine, which can cause chronic kidney disease (CKD). Dr. Sharma advises, “Drinking less water makes this problem more serious. Drinking 4 to 6 liters of water daily is essential for the kidneys.”
